Epidural Patient Information

There has recently been an outbreak of meningitis in several states, not including Iowa, which has been linked to epidural steroid injections performed with the medication methylprednisolone from one particular compounding pharmacy, the New England Compounding Center (NECC).

Steindler Orthopedic Clinic does not get any steroids or other medications from the New England Compounding Center (NECC).

At this time, there is no evidence to suggest that any of our medications are contaminated, and patients should be aware that they are at no additional risk for complication after any injection beyond the risks commonly associated with each procedure.

Please refer to the CDC link below for further information.
